WRITING SAMPLES
In addition to helping orgs and individuals tell their stories, securing funding for various projects and organizations via grant-writing, writing outdoor education curriculum, and/or helping businesses manage their brands through clear, creative, and concise marketing copy, I also write for myself.
I write poems, short stories (both fiction and creative non-fiction), have been hired to write articles and blog posts for various companies and individuals (most often about conservation, outdoor recreation, sustainable use, and trail-running), and am currently working on two poetry chapbooks + a handful of my own full-length book projects.
Once upon a time in the early days of the internet before Substack existed, I maintained a personal blog (kerrianne.org; now defunct) from 2004 until 2013. I met some of my best and most inspiring friends through that website, through the profound and simple act of sharing my life via written word—a fact which never ceases to make me feel like an exceedingly fortunate human.
I write because I love it, because stunning stories are magic, and because good, honest, heartfelt communication is a gift with the inherent power to change the world.
